Updated almost all armor builds for patch 1.010.00.00: Mizutsune and Zoh Shia. Removed Frenzy (Burst 5) as it's not really useful for any current monsters. Removed Super Comfy 2 as Flayer is confirmed to be quite bad. No new weapon builds added for now.

Removed Flayer 5 builds (thanks to this comment). Replaced Frenzy Physical build (3 Dahaad) with Frenzy (4 Gore) and Frenzy (2 Fulgur) builds as Resuscitate was changed to not be active when frenzy is cured. Added recommended combinations section.

All level 1 (small) decorations can be directly created at the melder, except for the Sane Jewel (Antivirus armor skill). After HR100, you can additionally craft all level 2 (medium) decorations, and the Sane Jewel. Level 3 decorations (including combination decorations) can only be obtained randomly from appraising orbs.
In Wilds, skills (and decorations) are now categorized as either weapon or armor skills so switching weapon won't mess up your armor skills. There are still some considerations like overcapping affinity due to weapons possibly having different affinity but for the most part you can build them separately then mix and match.
It's not 100% clear at the moment, but I believe Artian is still stronger if you have a fully boosted and well-rolled one. The damage will be comparable but Artian Paralysis weapon will have the benefit of the extra CC.
For low rank, don't worry too much about farming gear with good skills. I would just craft gear as needed to increase your defense and use the Ore, Bone, or Chatacabra weapon trees.

Critical Draw was buffed in Wilds to last for 3 seconds after your draw attack, allowing you to draw into Axe mode and use a second attack which also gets guaranteed 100% affinity. Frees up a ton of armor skills that would normally be used on affinity to get a ton of raw damage instead. Watch this run by me to see the proof of concept for the idea.
