All level 1 (small) decorations can be directly created at the melder, except for the Sane Jewel (Antivirus armor skill). After HR100, you can additionally craft all level 2 (medium) decorations, and the Sane Jewel. Level 3 decorations (including combination decorations) can only be obtained randomly from appraising orbs.
In Wilds, skills (and decorations) are now categorized as either weapon or armor skills so you can freely switch weapons without impacting your armor skills. There are still some considerations like overcapping affinity due to weapons possibly having different affinity but for the most part you can build them separately then mix and match.
For low rank, don't worry too much about farming gear with good skills. I would just craft gear as needed to increase your defense and use the Ore, Bone, or Chatacabra weapon trees.
